Sip and Sew is a website dedicated to providing a place to read reviews of the latest in machine embroidery, quilting and sewing books. There are links to machine embroidery design websites. Let me introduce myself.  My name is Gail and I have been sewing since childhood. I started my first quilt in eighth grade after being inspired by the Little House on the Prairie books. I finished the quilt in time to take it with me to college. I loved that quilt. It was bright and perky, but how horribly made! None of the squares were the same size. I used every type of spare fabrice that I could find from crepe to upholstery fabric. I used a basting stitch when sewing it together. It fell apart. But oh, how I loved that quilt.

Since that initial quilt, I have made many more quilts from small decorative quilts to king-sized bed quilts. I love scrap patchwork quilts the best, especially if I can find a way to include machine embroidery. I love to do machine embroidery and combining my two favorite techniques is a personal challenge of mine. Much of this website will be devoted to machine embroidery and quilting, although I also enjoy counted cross stitch and embroidery and all things crafty. Due to arthritis in my hands, I know have to get most of my sewing enjoyment form reading about projects as it is difficult to manipulate handcrafts.

We have changed the name of our website to Moonwishes Sewing to more closely reflect our selling name. We have been selling on the internet for years now as Moonwishes and wanted to help you have an easier way of finding us if you forgot to bookmark this site. During the last year I was very sick and haven't been able to update this site as I would have liked, but I'm feeling better now and want to go through the stacks of craft books I have and give you some reviews. I know buying something over the internet can be scarey, so if I can help with a recommendation, just let me know. We are very willing to answer questions about our sewing patterns that we have up for sale also.

We have also added a new page here called the Sewing Shop that has a lot of sewing related books, notions, gadgets, machines, clothes and even jewelry that is related to sewing or needlecrafts that you can purchase.
